Gorgeous Green Smoothie

Green smoothies are a great way to pack a lot of nutrition into one meal. Also, because they are blended they support the digestive process and help maintain satiety. This one is gluten and dairy free.

Serves 2



  • 50g loosely packed spinach
  • 1 green apple, cored and roughly sliced
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • ¼ avocado
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I really like Optimum Nutrition Lean Whey Protein Powder)
  • 1.5 lbs (about 700g) carrots, chopped
  • 300ml almond milk
  • 3 ice cubes




  1. Place all ingredients in blender or nutribullet and blend until smooth. 




If you want your smoothies sweeter, add 50ml apple juice and take almond milk down to 250ml. If you find it too thick for your liking, then just add almond milk or water to get the texture you prefer!
